Bigg Boss 20 is currently the talk of the town. While every contestant has their own gameplay, there have been a few contestants who are consistently dominating the headlines. The contestants are rockstar Qazi Touqeer and MTV Splitsvilla Season 16 winner Kushal Tanwar, a.k.a. Gullu. A while back, a snippet from the latest episode of Salman Khan-hosted show featuring Gullu and Qazi has become the talking point.
While the audience is loving the love track between Gullu and Kanika Mann, the former has now revealed an unheard facet of his personal life.
Gullu opens up about his short-lived marriage
Earlier, in 2025, the wedding pictures of Kushal Tanwar, popularly known as Gullu, first surfaced online during his stint on Splitsvilla Season 16. The images resurfaced in September 2026, when he entered the Bigg Boss 20 house. In the photos, Gullu was seen dressed like a traditional groom next to a bride. Gullu was wearing a white sherwani, and his bride was wearing a red lehenga. Both of them were seen wearing varmala, and Gullu sported a tika.
In many interviews, Gullu denied it and shared that the pictures were fake and he was never married. However, after entering the Bigg Boss 20 house, he has flipped the whole narrative. Speaking to his fellow contestant Qazi Touqeer, Gullu shared that he was married and the marriage lasted only for 4 to 6 months. When Qazi wanted to know whether he married because he was in love, Gullu mentioned that he was not in love. He also shared his parents’ ordeal after he took the decision to divorce. He said:
“Sabko woh cheez lag raha tha galat, divorce. Nahi pyaar nahi tha, waise kaun pyaar karta hai.”
Gullu rose to prominence with the show Splitsvilla Season 16. The audience especially loved the chemistry between Gullu and Kaira Anu, a social media content creator. They were one of the most talked-about couples of Splitsvilla Season 16. Despite winning the show, the duo’s relationship went through highs and lows. However, it is worth noting that the two never officially confirmed that they were dating after Splitsvilla 16.
Is Gullu in love with TV actress Kanika Mann?
Gullu and Kanika Mann’s chemistry inside the Bigg Boss 20 house has stolen the limelight. The Splitsvilla Season 16 winner fondly calls the Guddan Tumse Na Ho Payega star ‘Chaudhran’. While fans are already shipping, the other contestants also believe that Gullu has a soft corner for Kanika. However, Kanika seemed uninterested in him since day one.
In one of the episodes of Bigg Boss 20, Kanika mentioned that she has moved on, but her former relationship gave her trust issues. During this revelation, she also got emotional and couldn’t stop her tears. Isha Rikhi once asked Kanika whether Gullu has given her any hints about his feelings. In response, the TV actress shared that she doesn’t want any angle around her. She highlighted that Gullu often teases her and that’s it. She added that she wants to play individually.
Later, in an episode of Bigg Boss 20, Gullu set the record straight by saying he thinks of Kanika as a good friend. He explained that their bond is about mutual understanding, comfort, and pure friendship. He clarified that no romantic angle is present between them. While the contestants inside Bigg Boss 20 think that Gullu has a one-sided love for Kanika, he clarified that there is nothing like that. All that they have is pure friendship. He said:
“Koi one-sided nahi hai, dost hai, badiya hai.”
Amid Gullu and Kanika’s growing bond, the former’s statement to not fall in love surfaced online. Before entering the Bigg Boss 20, Gullu shared, “One thing I will never do on this show is that I don’t want to fall in love this time. I want to be single this time.”
