Hyderabad: Telangana’s social welfare residential schools recorded a 99.12 per cent pass rate in SSC 2026, with 16,921 of 17,071 students clearing the exams, social welfare minister Adluri Lakshman Kumar said on Thursday. He said the results show “systematic effort and monitoring” and added that results matter more than criticism. He said gurukul schools are helping students from weaker sections move ahead in education.

Out of 235 institutions, 163 recorded 100 per cent pass. All gurukuls in nine districts reported full results. In Intermediate, second year pass percentage was 88.22 per cent with 41 institutions at 100%, while first year stood at 77.79 per cent with 12 institutions achieving full pass.

In JEE Mains, 441 students qualified and 35 scored above 90 percentile. Students also performed well in IIT and NEET streams.

Officials said regular classes, evening doubt-clearing, weekly tests, and extra support for weaker students helped improve results. “We are tracking every student to ensure no one is left behind,” the minister said.

From SC hostels, 7,666 of 8,060 students passed, a 95.11% rate. A total of 369 hostels recorded 100% results. The highest marks were 581 by Ramavath Malleswari. The minister said better food, facilities, and counselling support also helped improve performance and attendance.
