Just weeks after the sudden death of her ex-boyfriend, Gypsy Rose Blanchard got into a minor car crash in Louisiana. The incident took place on October 17, 2026. Fortunately, the accident only caused minor property damage with no reported injuries. The crash comes during a difficult phase for Gypsy Rose, whose personal life is in the spotlight after her ex-boyfriend’s death.
Gypsy Rose Blanchard involved in minor car crash
According to TMZ, Louisiana State Police Troop C confirmed that troopers investigated a minor collision that involved Gypsy Rose Blanchard. The incident took place at an intersection in Houma, Terrebonne Parish, on October 17, 2026. Gypsy’s car collision has grabbed more attention after a Facebook user shared a post about his experience from the same incident. The user reportedly wrote:
“2026 is wild. Just got sideswiped by Gypsy Rose. FML.”
A source told TMZ that Gypsy had valid car insurance at the time of the crash. The report also alleged the sunlight shining into her eyes might have led to the collision. However, the authorities have confirmed that the incident caused only minor property damage with no injuries or arrests. Meanwhile, Gypsy has made no public statement on the incident. Notably, it comes at a time when she is still dealing with the loss of her daughter’s father, Ken Urker.
For those who don’t know, Ken was found dead at his home in Raceland, Louisiana, on October 1, 2026. Incidentally, it was also his 34th birthday. According to the information shared by the authorities, they found his body after they responded to a welfare check. Initial reports suggest that he might have died due to a suspected overdose.
Still, the official cause of the incident has not been confirmed. Investigators reportedly found drug-related items at the property, but no immediate signs of foul play. For now, they are waiting for Toxicology results to confirm the exact cause of his death.
Gypsy later spoke about Ken’s emotional state and told People that he was depressed during his final days and was “not in a good state of mind lately.” However, she mentioned that she does not know if his suspected overdose was intentional or not. Ken’s death also began an online debate on the impact of public scrutiny on his life. Alongside his sister, Autumn reportedly said that he faced online harassment and threats due to his bond with Gypsy.
Things got more severe when The Daily Mail got the recordings of phone calls between Gypsy and her then boyfriend, Ryan Anderson. They date back to 2020 and 2021. According to the recordings, Gypsy allegedly recalled telling Ken during an old argument that she hoped he overdosed. Yet, it does not prove that she had any link to his death.
Why is Gypsy Rose Blanchard famous?
Gypsy Rose Blanchard became popular after she got her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard, killed in 2015. Before her death, Dee Dee had established the notion that her daughter was seriously ill. In turn, Gypsy had to go through necessary pain and medical procedures. It also raised questions about abuse and factitious disorder imposed on another. Earlier, this was known as Munchausen syndrome by proxy.
Eventually, Gypsy pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and got a 10-year prison sentence. She was later released on parole in December 2023. The story also inspired the documentary Mommy Dead and Dearest and the TV series The Act. When she was in prison, she began corresponding with Ryan Anderson.
They tied the knot in July 2022. However, they parted ways in 2024, before she rekindled her relationship with Ken. They had first connected when Ken sent a support letter to her in prison in 2017 after watching Mommy Dead and Dearest. Gypsy announced her pregnancy in 2024, and they welcomed a daughter, Aurora, in early 2025.
