EXCLUSIVE: Sources say Harper Beckham has been left hurting after sister-in-law Nicola Peltz-Beckham appeared to replace her as her ‘dream sister’ in an Instagram post
Harper Beckham has been dealt a cruel blow as her sister-in-law Nicola Peltz-Beckham appears to have taken a swipe at her in a new Instagram post. Two years ago, Brooklyn’s actress wife described Harper as her “perfect dream little sister”. But it seems David and Victoria Beckham ’s youngest child may have fallen from favour, with Nicola celebrating a new “dream sister” – her brother Will Peltz’s new wife, Kenya Kinski-Jones. Last week, Nicola, 31, who married Brooklyn in 2022, shared a gushing post celebrating 40-year-old Will’s marriage to Kenya, 33. She wrote, “This wedding was truly one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever had the privilege of witnessing. Willy, thank you for finally and officially giving me my dream sister, Ken.”
She previously declared that Harper – who turns 15 this week – was her longed-for sibling and a source tells new the teen can’t help taking it to heart.
“Nicola’s ‘sister’ remark feels like a dig at the Beckhams, who are taking it personally,” the source said. “It feels like Harper has been caught in the crossfire of the Beckhams’ fight and she’s in the middle of it all. All she wants is to see her brother.” Brooklyn, 27, has been estranged from his sister since his explosive Instagram statement in January, in which he claimed he had been “controlled” by his parents and accused them of “trying endlessly” to sabotage his and Nicola’s relationship. He also accused Victoria, 52, of pulling out of making Nicola’s wedding dress at “the eleventh hour” and of hijacking his first dance with the bride. He rounded off his tirade by saying he has finally found “peace and relief” after years spent battling “crippling anxiety”. Until now, Harper has managed to avoid becoming embroiled in the spat between her brother and the rest of her family. Back in February, a source told new Brooklyn still “really cares for” his sister, adding that Nicola was devastated by the prospect she and Harper may no longer be able to spend time together. Previously, the heiress had nothing but praise for the teen, telling one interviewer in 2022, “I wanted a little sister so bad and Harper is the sweetest. I have the coolest little sister. She sends me Snapchats.” Harper, meanwhile, is said to have idolised Nicola, who she saw as a big sister. In 2024, they attended the premiere of Lola – Nicola’s directorial debut – together. And this time last year, despite relations between Brooklyn and his parents having cooled, both Brooklyn and Nicola paid a gushing tribute to Harper on her 14th birthday.
Sharing a photo of themselves and the teen looking close at an event, Brooklyn captioned the snap, “Happy birthday Harper we love u x”, and tagged Nicola. Sadly for Harper, the gulf between Brooklyn and his family has only widened and their fallout now appears to be taking its toll on her, too.
Our source said, “It’s really painful for her, because she genuinely misses Brooklyn. They had a very nice and close relationship. Out of all the brothers she looked up to him, so she’s really feeling it.”
Last month, she was dealt a further blow when she reportedly turned up “unannounced” at Brooklyn and Nicola’s LA home, while she was in the US to see her dad receive his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Her house call was said to have lasted less than a minute, as Brooklyn and Nicola were out of town.
The next day, a spokesperson for Brooklyn blasted the Beckham family, describing Harper’s visit as “choreographed for the cameras”.
As for Nicola’s new sister-in-law Kenya, who is the daughter of legendary record producer Quincy Jones and actress Nastassja Kinski, there seems to be nothing but love.
In her Instagram post following last week’s wedding – part of which took place at the Peltz residence in New York – Nicola wrote, “Watching the two of you love each other so deeply over the past 16 years has been one of the most beautiful gifts. I love you both more than words can say, and I truly couldn’t be happier for you both. I am forever lucky to have the most incredible humans – the Jones’ to call family.”
Nicola’s dad Nelson walked Kenya down the aisle, as her own father passed away in 2024. Talking about exchanging her vows with Will, Kenya – whose half-sister is Parks And Recreation star Rashida Jones – told Vogue, “Beginning the wedding weekend with the most meaningful part filled all of the unspoken moments between us throughout.”
While Harper is likely to be reeling following Nicola’s post, we’re told the whole family has been affected by the high-profile wedding.
“It is another slap in the face amid the feud,” our source said. “This whole thing has taken a real toll on Harper and the family. Victoria is distraught, but the more she tries to reach out, the more Brooklyn goes the other way. She finds it all embarrassing.”
