Vijayawada:The Vijayawada police commissioner, S.V. Rajasekhar Babu, informed the Andhra Pradesh High Court that proceedings issued earlier to open rowdy sheets against those allegedly involved in the attack on the Telugu Desam office had been withdrawn.
A single judge bench headed by Justice K. Maheswara Rao heard a batch of petitions filed by B. Murali Krishna and others challenging the proceedings issued by the Vijayawada police commissioner on September 22.
Petitioners’ counsel Veluru Maheswara Reddy argued that the police standing orders prescribed norms for opening rowdy sheets and that the commissioner had not followed them.
The court disposed of the petitions after taking note of the memo filed by the police commissioner revoking the proceedings to open rowdy sheets.
