Hyderabad: Temperatures across Telangana continued to remain high on Wednesday, even as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast light to moderate rain and thunderstorms over the next few days.
According to the IMD, isolated parts of the state are likely to receive rain or thundershowers until April 26, though no significant drop in maximum temperatures is expected for the next three days. Dry weather is likely to return from April 27.
A yellow alert has been issued for several districts, warning of thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds of 30–40 kmph. The alert extends to Hyderabad and surrounding districts until April 24.
Despite the forecast, temperatures remained in the 40°C range across most districts. Kumuram Bheem recorded the highest at 44.4°C, followed by Mancherial and Nalgonda at 44.2°C each. Adilabad, Peddapalli and Kamareddy also crossed 44°C.
In Hyderabad, most areas reported between 40°C and 41.5°C. Secunderabad and Begumpet were among the hottest at 41.5°C, while Falaknuma was slightly cooler at 39.6°C.
The IMD said Hyderabad is likely to see partly cloudy skies with light rain or thundershowers, especially towards evening or night over the next 48 hours. Maximum and minimum temperatures in the city are expected to hover around 37–38°C and 27°C, respectively.
