Heidi Klum Once Brought 5 Clones With Her At Her Halloween Party, Did She Spend USD 10M On It?

Queen of Halloween, Heidi Klum, did it again, and this year, she served as her own left hand at the Halloween party. The Heidiween began in 2000, and over two decades, it has remained one of the largest celebrity events of the spooky season, with guests expected to attend. Over the years, Heidi has showcased some of the scariest, most gorgeous Halloween makeovers.

This year, she came up with something unexpected again. She walked the red carpet, nailing her served-bloody-hand look. Obviously, it took a lot of effort to pull off such an outrageous Halloween look, and it didn’t come cheap.

Did Heidi Klum spend USD 10 million on her clone Halloween look?

Speaking of the cost, people have always wondered about the budgets that Heidi puts into her famous Halloween looks. Till now, there’s been no public confirmation about the same; however, a decade ago, speculation about one of her iconic Halloween looks’ budgets hit the headlines, leaving people’s jaws dropped on the floor.

Back in 2016, Heidi brought five clones to her Heidiween, and soon after, FX designer Mike Marino of Prosthetic Renaissance (who did the models’ looks) jokingly told TooFab.com it cost a total of USD 10 million. Instantly, chatter began about the hefty sum that Heidi Klum spent on her Halloween look.

But this was not true. Heidi Klum didn’t reveal the exact budget for her Halloween look, but she said it was nowhere near USD 10 million. Speaking to E!, Heidi mentioned that USD 10 million is definitely impossible. She said she would never let that happen, and she didn’t even have that much to pay for it. Sharing why, Mike said it cost USD 10 million, Heidi said he might have meant that to show how elaborate it was and how many people it took to create it. Heidi said:

“I mean obviously USD 10 million—that is absolutely impossible. I mean, I would never let that happen…I don’t even have the money to pay for that—that’s so crazy! He kind of meant how elaborate it is, how many people it takes to do this.”

What was the thought process behind Heidi Klum’s clone look, and how did she achieve the look?

During the same interview, Heidi Klum also revealed the thought process that led her to nail her clone theme for the spooky event. She mentioned that people always wanted to know how she balanced her personal and professional life. She said that her costume was basically, ‘six times Heidi Klum’, and it was a nod to people’s constantly asked questions about how she balances her life with four kids and a demanding career. She said:

“People always ask me ‘How do you juggle it all?’ and then I thought ‘I wish I could clone myself’ and ‘Hmm, wait a minute, I can clone myself! I’m going to clone myself, as a matter of fact, for Halloween.’ So here we are.”

For the unversed, to create the clones, Klum took the help of five other models. Months before the event, a life-cast of Heidi’s face was taken, and the special effects team at Prosthetic Renaissance created a 3D replica of her face. From this mold, the team created sculpted, custom, thin foam-latex facial prosthetics that would fit the other five models’ faces.

On the day of the event, the models had to go through a makeup process that took more than 10 hours, while for Heidi it took just half an hour, because, obviously, she was the OG. No sooner had she and her clones walked the red carpet than everyone was surprised, and without a close look, it was hard to tell which Heidi was real.
