'Hell Finally Froze...' Tom Arnold Reacts To Ex-Wife Roseanne Saying Something Almost Nice About Him

Tom Arnold has reacted to his ex-wife, Roseanne Barr, saying something almost nice about him. It so happened that Chuck Lorre, in his memoir, made a few remarks about Arnold. In his memoir, Lorre wrote that several writers on the set of Roseanne were instructed to put Tom Arnold’s name on the script to falsely credit him as a writer.

Arnold, who was seen as ‘Arnie Thomas’ in the sitcom Roseanne, denied the claims, and it was his ex-wife, Roseanne Barr, who thanked him for it. And now, Tom Arnold came along with a reaction to his ex-wife saying ‘almost nice’ things about him.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Roseanne Barr said that Tom Arnold was telling the truth for once when he denied Chuck Lorre’s claims about the behind-the-scenes happenings in his memoir. Roseanne added that Tom Arnold defended her and, for the same reason, she wanted to thank him, because it’s the first time she feels her ex-husband has done something right by his side.

For the uninitiated, Roseanne and Tom got married in 1990, and they were together for four years. The couple’s relationship had been a highly publicized one, and it was in 1994 that Roseanne filed for divorce from Tom. After a few weeks, the petition was withdrawn, and the couple decided to reconcile. However, the reconciliation lasted for a few weeks, and the divorce was back on track. In 1994, the marriage between the two was over as their divorce was finalized.

Following Roseanne Barr’s interview, Tom Arnold took to his social media handle and reacted to the former, saying something almost nice about him. Arnold worked as a writer and producer on the sitcom Roseanne.

Reacting to his ex-wife’s good words about him, Arnold said that more than three decades ago he predicted that he would do something so nice that his first ex-wife would be forced to say something almost nice about him. He also jokingly added that the ‘hell almost froze over’ as his first ex-wife said nice things about him. Arnold wrote:

“Don’t give up. Don’t ever give up. 33 years ago I predicted I would do something so cool my 1st X Wife Roseanne would be forced to say something almost nice about me. Hell finally froze over today.”

How did Tom Arnold react to Chuck Lorre’s claims about him in the latter’s memoir?

After Chuck Lorre said that the writers on the set were instructed to write Tom Arnold’s name on the script, the latter denied the same. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Arnold said that he would never put his name on a script that Lorre wrote, and even every writer who contributed had their names on the script.

In the same interview, Tom shared that he was the one to tell Lorre that each writer should have their name on the script. Arnold also recalled an incident involving another writer, whose name he wanted to be put on the script. Recalling his conversation with Lorre, the head writer, Arnold said:

“One friend that I really made a point, a guy named Joel Madison, who I just talked to, I don’t think Chuck liked him because he did not give him a script. It was two weeks before we were done, and I found out. I go, ‘Hey, Chuck, you’ve gotta give Joel a script. I told you you had to do that.’ He said, ‘Oh, shoot. Yeah, well, all I’ve got is this one with my name on it.’ I go, ‘Put Joel’s name on it. You’re the head writer, you make a lot of money, put his name.’”
