Claude Lemieux’s sudden and unexpected demise has brought attention to his wife and their children. Well, for the unversed, Claude has been married to Deborah for a long time, and the couple has four children. However, it is worth noting that Deborah has always maintained a private life and not much is known about her.

If an old interview of The New York Times is to be believed, Deborah first met Claude at a restaurant and eventually fell in love with each other. However, their first impression was something else. Reportedly, Deborah first found Claude intimidating and felt that he looked like a ‘mobster’. Later, Deborah described him as gentle and calm. Over the years, Deborah stood as the biggest supporter of the late hockey player. 

Claude Lemieux and Deborah have four children

According to a recent report by Hindustan Times, Claude Lemieux and his wife, Deborah, share four children. One of them is Brendan Lemieux, who followed the footsteps of his father and became a professional hockey player. Reportedly, Brendan was born in March 1996, in Denver and during the 2014 NHL Draft, he was selected by the Buffalo Sabres.

In the past few years, he has played for Winnipeg Jets, New York Rangers, Los Angeles Kings and Philadelphia Flyers. While Brendan was widely appreciated for his game, he was often compared to his father. After Claude’s demise, an old post of Brendan has gone viral, in which he shared a snap of a fan with a tattoo of his father.

Apart from this, Claude’s brother named Jocelyn Lemieux was also a hockey player. He was born in November 1967, as per Hindustan Times and in 1986, he was selected by the St Louis Blues. However, not much is known about Jocelyn. It is also worth mentioning that there is not much information about Claude’s other three children. For the unversed, Claude shares two children with his ex-wife, according to People Magazine.

Claude Lemieux has been one of the greatest NHL players. Over the years, he has won several championships. However, do you know that Claude once came out of retirement? Yes, that’s right. After playing in Switzerland, Claude announced retirement in 2003. But, he returned to the NHL around 2008-09, at the age of 43.
