Former Hollyoaks star Adam Woodward has taken to social media to announce that he and his partner are expecting their first child later this summer, and posted an adorable snap
A Hollyoaks star has announced he’s to become a first-time dad. Adam Woodward, who was Brody Hudson on the Channel 4 soap opera, often keeps his personal life private, but shared his happy news on social media this weekend.
The 33-year-old took to his Instagram grid to share a snap of the baby scan, confirming that his partner is due in August this year. In the image, Adam also shared a glimpse of a babygro and a pair of knitted booties, with ribbons tied around the ankles.
Another image, a silhouette, showed the actor kneeling down to plant a kiss on his partner’s blossoming bump. Across his image, he wrote: “It’s official… Baby Woodward due. Coming August 2026.”

Captioning his post, Adam wrote: “Incoming bada*s.” His post, which has been liked over 3,000 times, was soon flooded with celebratory messages from fans and former co-stars.
Parry Glasspool penned: “Amazing mate!” Nadine Mulkerrin added: “So gorgeous.” While Jessica Fox penned: “Congratulations!” alongside a red heart emoji. David Tag gushed: “Whaaat?! Congratulations bro!” Adam Rickett typed: “The what!!” alongside four heart-eyes emojis.
Eloise Lovell Anderson added: “Yay so happy for both of you! Amazing news.” Adam joined the Liverpool-based soap opera in 2017, playing Brody, who was billed as “quite the ladies’ man”.
Upon his arrival, it was said that Adam had introduced some of the “sexiest scenes” viewers had ever seen in the show’s history. His first scenes, filmed in Ibiza, paid homage to Daniel Craig’s debut as James Bond, and Adam spent hours in the gym to build muscle.
However, just four years later, it emerged that his character was being killed off, having been hit by a car. However, Adam had planned to leave the soap in March 2020, but the coronavirus pandemic outbreak brought this to a halt when he was offered a contract extension.
In his final scenes, Adam was run over by Warren Fox, a deliberate attempt to prevent Brody from speaking to the police about the murder of Cormac Ranger. But he later revealed that he had hoped his character wouldn’t be killed off, in case he needed to reprise his role if his career didn’t take off.
However, Adam said he enjoyed the fact that he could depart in “a blaze of glory.” Prior to joining Hollyoaks, Adam enjoyed a stint in rival soap, Emmerdale, playing Nathan for six episodes in 2017. Just two years before this, he also appeared in the soap as Grant for two episodes.
And although he initially questioned whether his acting career might dip after leaving Hollyoaks, Adam has gone on to maintain his career, starring as Kit Brennan in six episodes of the bilingual North Wales prison drama Bariau, alongside Bill Skinner, Hywel Morgan, Dion Lloyd and Sion Alun Davies.
Although little is known about Adam’s current partner, the actor previously dated his co-star, Sophie Porley, who took the role of Ellie Nightingale, but the couple went on to split in 2020 after two years of dating one another.
