Vijayawada: NTR district police commissioner S.V. Rajasekhar Babu on Thursday felicitated children of home guards who secured over 500 marks in the SSC examinations.
A total of 21 students were honoured at the police commissioner’s office in Vijayawada with shawls and mementoes in recognition of their academic performance.
Speaking on the occasion, the police commissioner said the achievement of the students reflected the dedication of home guards who serve on duty round-the-clock while also supporting their children’s education. He advised the students to remain disciplined, focus on their goals and work with determination to achieve success in life. He also cautioned them to stay away from bad habits.
Rajasekhar Babu said the police department would continue to support meritorious children from police families and extend assistance for their higher education, if required.
Home guards and their family members expressed gratitude for the recognition, stating that the felicitation had boosted their morale.
Admin DCP K.G.V. Sarita, home guard commandant Anand Babu, AR ADCP K. Koteswara Rao, home guard DSP N.V. Ramana, RIs Sudhakar Reddy and Rajendra Prasad, along with parents and family members of the students, were present.
