
Hyderabad: Government hospitals unfurled the National Flag and celebrated Telangana Formation Day on Tuesday. At the Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS), director Prof. Dr Nagari Beerappa said Telangana had emerged as a model state for the country by achieving significant progress across various sectors.
NIMS medical superintendent Dr Nimma Satyanarayana said the foundations of the Telangana movement were strengthened at the institute. He recalled that the struggles and protests held at NIMS during the Telangana agitation, along with the spirit shown by students and the public, played a crucial role in taking the movement from the streets to the national stage.
At Gandhi General Hospital, superintendent Dr N. Vani unfurled the National Flag. Deputy superintendent Dr K. Sunil Kumar, heads of departments, faculty members, resident medical officers (RMOs), ministerial staff, nursing officers, sanitation workers and security personnel participated in the celebrations.
