At least the Giants will not be blindsided, as far as who they are facing at quarterback this weekend.
They are expecting Jayden Daniels.
“We’re gonna have to prepare for Jayden. Until they say he’s not playing, we’re assuming he’s playing and we’re preparing for all the things he does as if he was 100 percent healthy,’’ head coach John Harbaugh said Monday. “They’re not gonna put him out there if he’s not ready to play. That’s the way we’ll approach it.’’
That sounds like a plan.
Daniels missed the past two games for the Commanders (1-3) with a dislocated left elbow. Washington coach Dan Quinn said Daniels will be a full participant in practice this week. Without Daniels, the Commanders upset the Seahawks 33-31, with Marcus Mariota tossing three touchdown passes. Sunday, Mariota was forced out with a knee injury and the Commanders, with third-string Athan Kaliakmanis at quarterback most of the way, lost to the Colts 30-13 in London.
Unless something goes awry, it will be Daniels facing the Giants on Sunday at Northwest Stadium in Landover, Md.

“He’s different,’’ Harbaugh said. “He’s a premier quarterback who can operate just in all those modalities. Is that a good word? I mean, he can RPO. He’s quarterback driven. It’s dropback pass. It’s under center. It’s under center, play-action, downhill run game. He does it all. He’s a very accurate passer. Outside throwing lanes, especially accurate, which is tough. Nice touch underneath. I mean, he’s proven himself to be a very, very dangerous quarterback, obviously. So, yeah, premier guy and it looks like we’re going to get him, so we’re going to have to be at our best.’’
Daniels is 3-0 in his career against the Giants.
