By the end, it was clear to the Giants that they were putting the Cowboys on the ropes.

Dallas sure was.
“At the end of the fourth quarter, they had to huddle up. When you see a team huddle up, that’s when you know you are breaking them,” Eluemunor said following the Giants’ 28-20 win over the Cowboys on “Sunday Night Football” at MetLife Stadium. “I can’t tell you how many times they rotated their D-line. They just broke in the fourth quarter.”
“We could’ve played another two or three quarters,” he added. “They were ready to go home.”
The Giants left little hope for Dallas in the fourth quarter.
After the Giants scored their fourth touchdown, the Cowboys scored a touchdown across nine plays for 74 yards across just 2:05 minutes. Of course they wanted the ball back as they trailed by a touchdown and a two-point conversion to tie the game, but Big Blue didn’t allow for such a thing.
The Giants closed out the final frame on offense by holding on to the ball for the final 5:21, putting together 12 plays for 47 yards.
The offense greatly impressed, going 9 of 10 on third down and putting together a balanced attack of 230 passing yards and 165 rushing yards. Dart (23-for-29, 230 yards, 3 TDs) rose to the occasion and was strong in his decision making under center.
The Giants held possession for nearly 37 minutes while Dallas had the ball for 23:20.
Dak Prescott was also kept in check throughout the game.
The longest plays on offense for the Cowboys went for 17 yards. They only averaged 3.8 yards per rush.
There were no sacks, but Deonte Banks and Greg Newsome II were strongholds against George Pickens, who had three receptions for 38 yards, and CeeDee Lamb (5 receptions, 44 yards).
An interception by safety Jevon Holland with 49 seconds left in the first half went on to change the momentum of the game and led the Giants to an Isaiah Likely touchdown for a 14-7 lead at the end of the quarter.
As Rex Ryan said on ESPN’s “Get Up” on Monday, “Build a bully. That’s what a John Harbaugh-coached football team is all about.”
Ryan was the defensive coordinator for Harbaugh’s first season as Ravens head coach before he served as the Jets head coach from 2009-14.
The Giants’ Harbaugh era got off to as good of a start as they could have dreamed up, creating more intrigue in the NFC East moving forward.
They will travel to Los Angeles in Week 2 for a “Monday Night Football” showdown against the Rams (0-1).
