STORRS, CT — The last time the UConn women’s basketball game started the season 1-1, they won the national championship.

UConn lost 77-66 at No. 5 Michigan after soundly defeating Cornell in their opener.

The Huskies also started the 2014-15 season 1-1 after losing to Stanford in overtime in their second game of the season. That team, led by Breanna Stewart, Napheesa Colllier and Gabby Williams, went on to win it all.

So these Huskies need to put the loss to the Wolverines behind them and move on to the three ranked team in front of them – Iowa, Ohio State and Louisville. It starts Sunday, Nov. 8, against the Hawkeyes at Gampel Pavilion in Storrs, Connecticut (2 p.m. ET, FS1).

Jovana Popovic is leading UConn, averaging 22 points a game. Dani Carnegie is averaging 16.5 points to lead Iowa.
