Luke Humphries believes he is heading into Finals Night playing the “best darts of his career” as he looks to defend his crown as Premier League champion.
Humphries was languishing in seventh place in the table a month ago. But after making it into four weekly finals in a row, including winning Night 15 in Birmingham, he ensured he would be at the O2 to defend his title.
With such a run, Humphries statistically heads into Finals Night as the most in-form player amongst Luke Littler, Jonny Clayton, and Gerwyn Price.
Humphries takes on Clayton in the semi-finals as he looks to retain the Premier League trophy and after fighting tough, he believes he may have found a purple patch he would love to maintain since it includes some of the best darts he has ever thrown.

“I’m certainly giving myself more opportunity and feeling,” Humphries said.
“Over the last four weeks, I’ve played better than I’ve ever done in my career and now I have an opportunity to defend it.
“As I said at the start of the season, I don’t care how I get there, I just wanted to get here.
“As long as my name is on the trophy again, I don’t care who or how I do it.
“It’s such a hard tournament to win.”
If Humphries does go back-to-back in the Premier League, he will join Phil Taylor and Michael van Gerwen as just the third player to complete the feat.
Humphries admits to join such an elite list would be a proud moment and it is such records he is chasing in his career.
“It would mean the world to me and my family,” he added.
“I like to break records, I like to be a part of something that not a lot of people have got.
“I have joined Phil and Michael with a few things and I would like to join them in this.”

Remarkably, this is Humphries third Finals Night in the three times he has been involved in the competition, losing to Littler in the final in 2024 and then beating him in 2025.
With experience on his side, plus the resilience he has built, Humphries knows he has what it takes to claim Finals Night glory once again.
“When you have won it, there is more expectation,” he said.

“People are more optimistic you can do it again because you’ve already done it.
“You have to play two tough games against two tough players. Now I have that experience, it might help me.
“I would say I’m probably playing the best, but coming into a night like finals night, it’s all on the day,” Humphries added.
“I’ve got the momentum with me and hopefully it stays with me tomorrow.
“This year was obviously a lot more challenging, I was in a position I’m not used to being in the Premier League.
“The way I bounced back, is what I’ll take with me.
“I showed resilience and determination to not give in.”
