Hundreds of devotees are participating in the annual Kartika Prabhat Pheri in Madnoor village of Kamareddy district during Kartika Masam.
The 40-day devotional procession begins at 4.50 am from the Balaji temple. Devotees visit temples across the village, offer haratis to deities and sing bhajans and devotional songs as they move through different streets.
People across age groups, from children to senior citizens, take part in the programme. Villagers also offer prayers to Jangama Maheshwaras and seek their blessings as part of the tradition. Devotees said participating in prayers, temple visits and bhajans during Brahma Muhurtham gave them spiritual satisfaction and a sense of peace.
The procession has become an annual tradition at the mandal headquarters, located on the Telangana-Maharashtra border. It brings villagers together and familiarises younger generations with the region’s religious and cultural traditions.
Organisers appealed to villagers to participate and help preserve the tradition for future generations.
