Hyderabad: Hyderabad Globe Football Club won the CCOB (City College Old Boys) cup Under-21, Football Championship organised by CCOB Football Association at the Quli Qutub Shah Stadium in Hyderabad.
In the final, Globe defeted Hyderabad Sporting by a 1-0 scoreline. The all-important goal of the match was scored by Syed Imtiyaz Ahmed in the 55th minute.
Earlier in the semifinals, Globe defeated host CCOB 1-0 as Saifullah scored the solitary goal, in the last minute of the match.
In the other semifinal, Hyderabad Sporting club beat Abbas Union FC in the tie-breaker after both teams were locked 1-1 after regulation time.
Globe’s biggest win came in the quarterfinal when they thumped Saidabad Football Club by 5-0 goals. Faizan Ahmed scored two goals, while Sham, Saifullah and Omer Farooq contributed one each to Globe’s tally.
