HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) said it had secured five acres of government land in Khanamet village of Serilingampally, valued at ₹1,000 crore.
A few individuals had attempted to encroach on the parcel located in Survey No. 42 along the route from Metal Charminar to the Hitex Exhibition Centre. They erected two temporary sheds and constructed a room on the site. HYDRAA received a complaint from the Serilingampally revenue officials while a perimeter fence made of metal sheets was being built around the land.
The alleged encroachers had long claimed the land as their own, and prevented others from accessing the area. The agency removed the sheds, the constructed room and the fencing. After clearing all encroachments, HYDRAA installed a fence around the five acres and set up signages identifying it as government property.
Elsewhere, HYDRAA removed encroachments at Marripalli lake in Marripalli, Abdullapurmet mandal. An individual had set up a ready-mix concrete (RMC) unit on patta land adjacent to the lake and encroached upon the lake’s full tank level (FTL) area by filling it with soil.
Sheds for workers were also constructed within the FTL limits. Following a complaint lodged via “Praja Vani,” HYDRAA conducted an on-site inquiry with officials regarding the attempt to encroach upon and fill about five acres of the lake area. After confirming the encroachments, the agency removed the sheds on Tuesday. The agency installed fencing to demarcate the FTL boundaries and provided a designated path to allow access for agricultural activities.
HYDRAA also ordered removal of the soil dumped into the lake. According to HMDA records, Marripalli lake spans 31.05 acres and HYDRAA took measures to protect it within these limits.
