Hyderabad: A major fire broke out on the second floor of KSR Shopping Complex near Metro Pillar No. 1043 in Ameerpet in the city on Thursday afternoon.
Several shops next to the building were also gutted in the blaze.
Firefighters are currently working to douse the flames and bring the situation under control. People working in the surrounding shops are being evacuated. Firefighting teams were trying to curtail the fire from spreading nearby. The incident also caused heavy traffic congestion on the busy main road.
The Hyderabad police confirmed that no casualties were reported so far. The fire accident reportedly broke out in the Helmet shop in the complex. Seven fire engines reached the spot to control the fire. Further details are awaited.
