HYDERABAD: Following Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s directive that officials in the Core Urban Region remain on high alert after fatal incidents involving snapped electric wires, TG Southern Power Distribution Company Ltd. (TSSPDCL, southern discom) chairman and managing director Jitesh V. Patil conducted a hands‑on inspection across the Old City. He urged staff to adopt precautionary measures and maintain uninterrupted, high‑quality power supply during the forecast heavy rains.

Patil personally surveyed the nine‑km Dabirpura–Chaderghat route used for the annual Bibi‑ka‑Alam procession during Muharram, reviewing safety protocols and assessing power arrangements along the corridor. He instructed officials to deploy additional distribution transformers where required and to fast‑track contingency plans to prevent outages and hazards.

The field visit and review meeting included chief engineer (Metro Zone) Bikshapathy, Hyderabad South Circle superintending engineer Srinivas, and several divisional and assistant divisional engineers. Officials were tasked with tightening on‑ground coordination, clearing potential danger spots, and ensuring rapid response teams are ready during the rains and Muharram observances.
