Hyderabad: City police have rolled out Soceye, an AI‑based social media observation and cyber intelligence application designed to monitor cyber trouble‑mongers, track trending online issues that may disrupt public order, and support analysis and investigation.

Launching the app, police commissioner V.C. Sajjanar said the initiative reflected the force’s commitment to adopting cutting‑edge technologies and leveraging AI for public safety.

Officials said Soceye enables automated surveillance, real‑time analysis and investigative support, reducing the manual effort of round‑the‑clock monitoring. In its pilot phase, the app flagged 85 hateful and communally sensitive posts linked to the Puranapul crossroad incident and 126 posts related to the Gudimalkapur issue, leading to timely takedowns and identification of offenders.

The application features an intelligent dashboard integrating inputs from Dial‑100, internal alerts, city events and operational feeds to provide real‑time situational awareness. AI models also detect child pornography, cyber bullying and stalking, generate alerts, and escalate objectionable content to platforms for action.

Police said Soceye will also strengthen grievance handling through official social media channels, offering a faster mechanism for public complaints.
