HYDERABAD: Family members and associated recalled the services of Dr Srinagesh Potluri, a Hyderabad-based scientist, entrepreneur and socially conscious individual, who died in the US of a heart attack. He was 58. He was declared brain-dead and his family took the decision to donate his organs.
His mother and brother reside in Moula Ali, and remained closely connected to his family.
Dr Potluri was remembered not only for his scientific achievements but also for his kindness, humility, generosity and concern for society.
Dr Potluri earned his Master of Philosophy from the University of Hyderabad, MSc in Chemistry from IIT Powai and PhD from the Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (IICT). He later pursued postdoctoral research at UT Southwestern Medical Center in the United States.
He was founder and executive leader of ChemPrise and Nano Catalytics, working in the areas of advanced materials, polymers and nanotechnology. He was also chief scientist at Zyvex Technologies and global technology director at Michelman.
The cremation and memorial service for Dr Potluri was held on Sunday at 10 am local time in Middletown, Ohio.
