HYDRAA Commissioner: Victims of Demolition Drives to Receive 2BHK Housing Units

Hyderabad: The state government would provide two-bedroom housing units to the poor whose houses were demolished as part of restoration of water bodies, HYDRAA commissioner A.V. Ranganath said on Friday. He was speaking at a meeting with residents who lost their homes in the vicinity of Sunnam Cheruvu in Madhapur and Ramanthapur Cheruvu in Uppal.

He said Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy had taken the decision to sanction the 2BHK units to poor families who lost their residences and had specifically instructed him to communicate this decision to the victims.

Ranganath stated that the government intended complete the process soon.

HYDRAA is gathering information regarding the number of huts located within the tank boundaries and the number of people residing in them.

The HYDRAA commissioner stated that this list is being prepared based on Google Maps and satellite imagery to ensure there is no scope for any irregularities. The data of individuals who were residing in the areas prior to July 19, 2024.
