British YouTube star and influencer Yung Filly has taken to the witness stand to defend allegations he assaulted and raped a young fan after a performance in Perth two years ago.
The 30-year-old Londoner, whose real name is Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, has been on trial in Perth’s District Court for the last week, with the court hearing evidence from a woman alleging he bit, slapped, strangled and raped her in a hotel room in September 2024.
Barrientos denies the allegations, and on Monday told the jury he engaged in consensual sex with the then 20-year-old woman after inviting her back to his hotel room.
The comedian and musician told the jury he described himself as an influencer and artist before detailing events during a performance in Perth at the start of his first-ever tour that led to his arrest and 10 charges, including multiple counts of rape and assault.
Barrientos told the jury he asked the woman, “do you want to come home with me?” in the VIP area of Bar1 nightclub in Hillarys after he had been on stage.
He said the pair spoke, he couldn’t remember what was said, but that he recalls “complimenting” her.
“I fancied her,” he said. “We got chatting and that was it.”
Asked if there was any physical contact between the pair, Barrientos told his lawyer David Edwardson that he recalled putting his hand on her waist.
In her evidence a week ago, the woman claimed Barrientos – who she described as her “idol” – put his hands down the back of her pants and groped her breast during the interaction.
“I did not,” Barrientos said on Monday in response to the allegations. “Never happened.”
“The vibes were good, she had a real good energy about her,” he said.
He then claimed the woman later got into the car with him after he left the venue and went with him to his room at the Intercontinental Hotel on Hay Street.
Last week, the woman told the court she thought she was going to an after-party when she left the concert with Barrientos.
She alleged the pair engaged in consensual sex at the Intercontinental Hotel, before it allegedly turned violent.
The woman claimed she “squirmed” to try and stop Barrientos from hurting her and repeatedly told him he was hurting her.
“I kept saying, ‘You’re hurting me’,” she told the court.
“When he was biting me I was trying to tap him, saying I was tapping out. Each time I said something he would hurt me more.
