‘I Was Afraid’, Dave Portnoy Reveals Ignoring Mike Vrabel At Public Event, Amid Dianna Russini Row

Mike Vrabel and Dianna Russini’s scandal seems to be slipping out of hands. It all began after Page Six published cosy photos of the two, despite them being married to different people. After the photos were leaked, multiple NFL insiders and sports personalities shared their thoughts on it. One of them was Dave Portnoy, who suspected that there might be something more than friendship between Mike and Dianna. Amid that, Dave recently shared that he ignored Mike Vrabel at a public event because he was afraid of the Patriots’ head coach.

Dave Portnoy reveals being uncomfortable around Mike Vrabel post Dianna Russini’s scandal

Recently, the Barstool Sports founder, Dave Portnoy revealed that he saw Mike Vrabel at a public event; however, he chose to avoid him after his controversy with Dianna Russini. Sharing the reason behind it, Dave explained that he was afraid of Mike due to his past comments on their affair scandal. He felt that the controversy has brought an uncomfortable air between them. Dave stated:

“No, I did not speak to him. I was afraid to go up to him. I do have a relationship with him in the past [but] I have no idea what he’s seen, what I’ve said.”

Even though Dave Portnoy did not speak to Mike Vrabel, he revealed the head coach of the New England Patriots seemed to be very comfortable and relaxed. Mostly, he was around the players, having a good time. Talking about the audience, Dave revealed that Mike Vrabel received a warm welcome from the fans, despite weeks of scrutiny.

Soon after the photos of Mike and Dianna were shared by Page Six, Dave Portnoy publicly expressed his support towards the head coach. He defended the head coach and praised his leadership. At that time, Dave wrote, “Leader of men! Let he who has not made a mistake or bad decision cast the 1st stone!” However, just a few days later, Dave Portnoy shared a shocking prediction, in which he stated that Mike and Dianna might soon get divorced from their respective partners. He had shared:

“Davey pageviews you heard it here 1st prediction – Vrabel and Russini both get divorced and remarry each other.”

Mike Vrabel has been one of the most respected figures in the NFL. He is widely recognised for his skills and leadership qualities. In his personal life, he is married to Jen Vrabel. The two during their college years and eventually tied the knot. They share two sons. On the other hand, Dianna Russini is a sports reporter, who was working as the insider of The Athletic, before resigning due to her cosy photos with Mike. She is married to Kevin Goldschmidt. 

If reports are to be believed, Mike Vrabel and Dianna Russini’s relationship began in 2020, before the latter got married. However, they took a break after Dianna tied the knot with Kevin. Months later, Dianna and Mike reconnected and their romance rekindled. According to a video shared by TMZ, Dianna and Mike went on a boat ride when the sports reporter was seven months pregnant. The video raised multiple questions, with a few insiders demanding a DNA test. 

Currently, both Dianna and Mike seem to be in a good relationship with their partners. After the affair scandal, Mike was spotted a few times with his wife, Jen Vrabel. Later, Jen was seen wearing their wedding ring as well, shutting down divorce rumours. Meanwhile, on Mothers Day, Dianna was seen kissing her husband, Kevin.
