An I’m A Celebrity South Africa star has dramatically quit the camp just days before the final episode was filmed, leaving their co-stars in floods of tears
The I’m A Celebrity camp is left stunned during tonight’s episode when one contestant is forced to quit the show on medical grounds. The news comes as a total shock to the entire group and causes lots of tears in camp.
The incident happens at the start of a day when one emotional campmate gathers everyone around. They tell the group: “I’ve just got something to tell you all,”
“I didn’t feel very well this morning… and the medics have advised I can’t return to camp. I’ve got to go home.” With tears in their eyes they add: “I don’t want to go. I’m absolutely gutted. I wanted to finish.”
The other campmates hug the star before they exit the show leaving everyone in shock. The Mirror knows the identity of the celeb who is leaving, but is keeping them anonymous so fans can see the action play out on ITV tonight.
The unplanned departure leaves eight contestants left fighting to be crowned a ‘legend’ in the live final on Friday. They will take part in a trial called Rancid Run which was previewed on Monday night’s show and sees them playing in pairs.
There are also expected to be more evictions through the week to leave four celebs fighting to win in the final. In the Australian version of the show, other celebs have left the series in the past on medical grounds.
On Monday night David Haye and Gemma Collins were evicted from the camp. Last week, comedian Seann Walsh was the first celeb to leave the series in South Africa.
This year’s instalment of All Stars has seen former boxer David Haye come under fire for the language he’s used within the camp. Last week, he referred to his girlfriend Sian as an “ugly duckling,” sparking a shocked reaction from his campmates. Although he described Sian as “lovely,” he added that she “has the personality of a proper ugly bird.”
He said: “Most ugly girls realise they’ve gotta have a personality and the banter to tell jokes and s**t, so people overlook the fact that they’re not aesthetically amazing straight away.
“It’s called ugly duckling syndrome, where girls are ugly when they start off, then they get pretty as they get older, but they’ve still got the personality of when they were ugly.” Elsewhere, he wa also slammed for the way he spoke to Waterloo Road star, Adam Thomas, who declined to participate in a Bushtucker Trial due to being dehydrated and a lack of energy from his autoimmune disease.
David hit out, calling Adam “useless”, adding he didn’t “give a s**t” if he was unwell. Speaking after his exit, he commented that there was “no bad blood” on his side towards Adam. Haye said: “I’ve been immersed in tough boxing gyms since I was ten years old.
“Literally fighting daily, much bigger men than myself, pushing myself to the limits, physically and mentally. I won the world heavyweight championship against a seven-foot Russian giant. So when a grown man tells me that a fun TV show – where we’re being paid handsomely every single day – is the hardest thing he’s ever been through, it’s just not a frequency I recognise.”
- I’m A Celebrity continues on ITV and ITVX tonight at 9pm.
