In a bizarre and humorous incident from Indonesia, Khoirul Anam, a man from Java, went viral on social media after he staged a wedding ceremony with a rice cooker. The “bride,” a white Philips rice cooker, was dressed in a white veil, while Anam wore traditional wedding attire. Photos of the event showed him signing marriage documents and even kissing the appliance. Anam humorously described the rice cooker’s qualities as “fair, obedient, loving, and good at cooking” in his social media posts.

However, just four days later, Anam “divorced” the rice cooker, citing that it could only cook rice and not other dishes. He referred to the decision as “heavy and round,” a pun likely referencing both the physical shape of the cooker and the emotional weight of his choice.

The entire episode was revealed to be a publicity stunt for entertainment purposes. Anam is known for his quirky antics on social media and has previously gone viral for similar stunts. This particular act succeeded in drawing widespread attention and amusement online
