Doctor Who and EastEnders star Bonnie Langford is set to appear on Sunday Brunch this weekend

Bonnie Langford has graced our screens for decades as an actress, dancer, singer and TV personality – but who are her famous relatives?

The 61-year-old, who grew up in Surrey, shot to fame playing Violet in Just William and Melanie Bush in Doctor Who. She also starred in EastEnders as Carmel Kazemi between 2015 and 2018, earning her the 2016 British Soap Award for Best Newcomer.

Beyond television, Bonnie has dazzled audiences in West End and Broadway productions including Peter Pan, Cats, The Pirates of Penzance, Chicago, and Paddington: The Musical. She’s also showcased her skating skills on Dancing on Ice in both 2006 and 2014.

The star is scheduled to appear on Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch today (17 May), joining hosts Tim Lovejoy and Simon Rimmer, alongside Jamie Laing, Victoria Smurfit and James Smith. Ahead of her appearance, fans might be intrigued to know that Bonnie has a famous ex-husband and four remarkably gifted nieces, reports the Express.

Who is Bonnie Langford’s ex-husband?

Bonnie’s ex-husband is Paul Grunert, an actor recognised for his work in Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps, Death Defying Acts and MI-5.

The pair first crossed paths while performing in a musical production in 1987. They tied the knot in Mauritius in 1995, before welcoming their daughter, Bibi, in 2000.

Bonnie and Paul’s marriage hit troubled waters in 2015 when reports emerged that they’d separated after two decades together. A close friend of Bonnie’s revealed to The Sun at the time: “Bonnie split from her husband quite some time ago, and it is very amicable and they remain good friends.”

The source continued: “Bonnie has not disclosed the split publicly as she is an extremely private person who rarely talks about her personal life, and she wants it to remain that way for the sake of their daughter.”

Bonnie Langford’s famous nieces

It appears that performing prowess is a family trait, as Bonnie is an aunt to four highly accomplished stage and screen stars. Zizi, Saskia, Summer, and Scarlett Strallen are the children of Bonnie’s sister, Cherida Langford, and all four have carved out successful careers in show business.

Zizi has garnered acclaim for her portrayal of Mary Poppins in the Cameron Mackintosh stage production, and is currently captivating theatre-goers as Glinda in the West End’s Wicked.

Summer, meanwhile, has impressed audiences with standout performances as Meg Giry in Love Never Dies and Maria von Trapp in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s reimagined The Sound of Music. She’s also featured in Hollyoaks and Doctors.

Saskia trained at RADA, while Scarlett has gained recognition for taking on Mary Poppins on Broadway – a part she’s also performed in London and Australia – and for her role as Sibella in A Gentleman’s Guide to Love & Murder, where she first met her husband, Bryce Pinkham.

Sunday Brunch airs weekly on Channel 4 from 10am
