Today, Coronation Street star Michael Le Vell tied the knot with his long-term partner, Louise Gibbons, but their relationship wasn’t always plain sailing

Corrie’s Kevin Webster actor, Michael Le Vell, has married his long-term partner, Louise Gibbons. The soap star, 61, and Louise, his fiancée of nine years, exchanged vows at Sale Town Hall in Manchester today.

Surrounded by friends and family, the actor flashed a wide smile while wearing a beige suit and brown tie. His bride looked sensational in a strapless, fitted white bodice and feathered sleeves, while her hair was styled into curls that flowed down her shoulders.

Moments after saying “I do,” the happy couple walked out of their ceremony, hand in hand. As they exited the registry office, the pair were overcome with happiness as duck egg blue confetti was thrown into the air, before the newlyweds kissed one another again.

Arriving at the Town Hall earlier in the day, Michael made his feelings very clear as he stepped out of a chauffeur-driven car, putting his thumbs up as he awaited the arrival of his bride, who was taken to the ceremony in a chauffeur-driven Mercedes, alongside a bridesmaid.

Michael and Louise started dating in 2014. At the time, it was reported that they met because Louise is Michael’s local bookmaker’s sister. After a three-year romance, they announced their engagement in 2017.

Despite his fame, the couple keep their relationship away from the public eye. Ahead of their stunning ceremony, sources said that Michael couldn’t wait to make their relationship official as it had been “a long time coming”.

However, their relationship hasn’t always been smooth sailing; the couple briefly split early in their romance. But just days later, they were spotted together again.

With the temperature hitting 23 degrees, it was no surprise that the happy couple looked relaxed as they started the rest of their lives together.

Although Le Vell is one of the nation’s most recognisable soap stars, as well as the second-longest serving actor on Corrie, the couple opted for a more relaxed day. Rather than going all out for their celebrations, their day was much more low-key than his on-screen persona.

A tight-knit guest list included friends and family of the happy couple, as well as Michal’s co-stars, including on-screen sister Sue Devaney, who plays Debbie Webster, and his Webster’s Autos colleague Alan Hallsall, who plays Tyrone Dobbs. His current on-screen wife, Abi Franklin (Sally Carman), also smiled as she arrived with her co-star and real-life husband, Joe Duttine (Tim Metcalfe).

And his on-screen ex-wife, Sally Synevor, was also at the ceremony, arriving in a blue-and-pink floral dress. Shortly after their ceremony, the couple headed to a more low-key reception, with more of Michael’s co-stars in attendance.

The actor was previously married to Janette Beverley, whom he met after she appeared alongside him in Corrie. The former couple, who tied the knot in 2986, share two children together. However, after 25 years together, they split in 2011.
