WASHINGTON — Iranian Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei celebrated the resounding Tuesday night defeat of President Trump’s allies in Congress.
“The process of the US’s collapse has accelerated,” the maimed and in-hiding Khamenei gloated on X.
Republicans suffered a stunning wipeout that many of Trump’s political advisers attributed to the war with Iran, which caused higher energy prices and inflation.

Trump has said the election won’t impact his approach toward Iran, despite the likelihood that Democrats in control of the House and Senate will heap pressure on him to end the conflict.
The current Republican-held House and Senate voted this year to require Trump to end the conflict, and Democratic majorities can do more to pressure the president, including potentially withholding funds, blocking key nominations and attempting to impeach current office-holders.
Khamenei, who must approve any deal with the US, twisted the knife despite his foreign minister, Abbas Araghchi, saying Sunday that “very intensive” peace talks were underway.
Trump said Monday that he won’t resume major operations against Iran after the midterms.
On Tuesday, he surprisingly unveiled plans to end $4 billion in annual US aid to Israel, which attacked Iran alongside the US, saying it was to deny a talking point to politicians opposed to the Jewish state.
