Ohio State football saw a different side of Jeremiah Smith Saturday during the 41-28 Oregon rout. And that scene could very well spark the final days of the junior Buckeyes wideout, per Damien Harris.

The former New England Patriots running back turned CBS Sports analyst weighed in on Smith’s Columbus future. And Harris’s words will turn heads and grab eyeballs.
“He’s done, he’s going to pack it up. In my opinion, there’s nothing to gain, there’s everything to lose if you’re Jeremiah Smith. I don’t think that he plays again the rest of the season for Ohio State,” Harris proclaimed. “What’s there to play for? This isn’t a College Football Playoff team. They were already on the outside looking in. He’s already etched his name in history and he has a national championship. But what’s there to play for?”

Harris insists that he’s not knocking OSU, coach Ryan Day, or even quarterback Luke Fahey who needed to step in for the injured Julian Sayin against Indiana. He also adds that if there’s any game that Smith would entertain playing in, it’s the annual rivalry game versus Michigan. Which takes place after Thanksgiving on Nov. 28 in Columbus. That could very well be Smith’s last game inside the Horseshoe amid his NFL Draft chatter.

Smith continues to garner top pick hype especially before facing the Ducks. He still surpassed 100 yards receiving and shattered Marvin Harrison Jr.’s previous mark in the process. But now he and the Buckeyes have endured their most losses together with three defeats. Hence why Harris believes it’s time to shut down Smith if you’re Day and OSU.
