The makers of Jackie have unveiled an extended glimpse from the upcoming Tamil film, offering the first detailed look at Dhruv Vikram’s character and the action-driven world of the Karan Arvind Kumar directorial. Running for over four minutes, the video introduces Dhruv as a stuntman whose profession puts him in increasingly dangerous situations, both on and off the film set.
The glimpse opens with Dhruv’s character stepping in to perform a risky stunt for the lead hero after the actor refuses to attempt the sequence, citing safety concerns. What initially appears to be another day at work for a professional stunt performer soon hints at a much larger problem. Away from the cameras and elaborate action setups, Dhruv’s character appears to be dealing with trouble of his own, suggesting that the film could explore the less glamorous side of a profession built around danger.
Dhruv Vikram gets a new action avatar
The glimpse puts Dhruv at the centre of several action-heavy moments while establishing his character as someone accustomed to taking risks. His physicality and screen presence appear to be central to Jackie, with the film positioning him in a more commercial action space.
The actor is coming off the success of Mari Selvaraj’s Bison Kaalamaadan, which marked another notable chapter in his career. Jackie gives him another opportunity to headline a commercial entertainer, this time with a character whose profession naturally lends itself to elaborate stunt sequences.
Karan Arvind Kumar, who has previously worked on films including Karuppu and Sorgavaasal, makes his directorial debut with Jackie. Going by the glimpse, the filmmaker appears to be combining action, drama and a strong commercial sensibility while building the protagonist around the world of stunt performers.
The film also features Sai Dheena, Arunachaleshwaran Pa and Prudhvi Raj in important roles. While the glimpse keeps much of the plot under wraps, it establishes that Dhruv’s character could find himself caught in circumstances far more complicated than the dangerous stunts he performs for a living.
Santhosh Narayanan and Vikram Mor power the technical team
Jackie has brought together an experienced technical crew for its action-oriented narrative. Music is composed by Santhosh Narayanan, while Viki serves as the cinematographer. Jayasuriya S is handling the editing, with GM Sekhar serving as the production designer.
Popular stunt director Vikram Mor is overseeing the film’s action choreography. His involvement adds further weight to the stunt-heavy portions showcased in the glimpse, particularly given the central role that physical action appears to play in the story.
Jackie is produced by Mythri Movie Makers, which has been on a strong commercial run with films including Dude and Good Bad Ugly in 2025, followed by Modha Rathiri in 2026. With Dhruv coming off a successful outing and the production house continuing its run of commercial releases, Jackie arrives with considerable expectations.
The glimpse stops short of revealing the larger conflict, but it does establish one thing clearly: Dhruv Vikram’s Jackie is stepping into a world where danger is part of the job, and the real trouble may begin when the cameras stop rolling.
