Jade Thirlwall and her boyfriend Jordan Stephens were once the hottest couple before their split. The pair seemed to have it all, both carving out successful careers and seemingly besotted with each other at the height of their powers.
But now that seems to be over, as after six years, the couple have called it quits and wiped each other from their social media feeds. Over the years, both Jade and Rizzle Kicks star Jordan let fans into their relationship and divulged details about their unique bond.
The now-former couple met during lockdown, when Jordan reached out to a friend of Jade’s to “pitch him” to the singer, who later slid into his DMs with: “OK, what’s your pitch?”
In an interview earlier this year, Jordan said that Jade was “as close to a gay man as humanly possible”. He explained that they had become closer due to Jade’s allyship with her LGBTQ+ followers, and his confidence in his own sexuality and masculinity.
He told Attitude: “Now I realise that JADE herself is, I mean, as close to a gay man as humanly possible.”
Meanwhile, in 2024, Jordan praised Jade as he said this was the first relationship he’d been in where he felt he could relax.
“I have to give a shout-out to my current girlfriend,” he told the Daily Mail, adding: “The relationship I’m in now I feel secure and safe. I feel love and I feel connected to a person. I didn’t have an understanding that I could feel love like this.”
While disclosing information on their emotional bond, the pair have also not been shy about divulging details about their passionate sex life.
During an episode of Lou Saunders’ podcast, The Cuddle Club, Jordan recalled how he once ‘passed out’ after getting intimate with Jade.
He said in 2021: “I had sex with my girlfriend, but it was so fantastic that we just both passed out and then came back around like 25 minutes later. I remember being like, ‘I don’t think that has ever happened to me before,’ It was really cool.”
Jade also dropped hints about her sex life in her song Lip Service, taken from her debut album, That’s Showbiz Baby. Lyrics include: “Hey, now/ Makin’ your way down/ Man is about town/ I just want your lip service. That’s what I’m talkin’ about, yeah/ Ooh, the whole situation’s outta control, uh/ Is it the feeling of fire?”
She also made a cheeky quip about Jordan’s manhood while live on BBC Radio 1. During a discussion about whether Tom Grennan would be in the gym, host Greg James said it was “annoying” how shorter men can get “big quite quickly” when working out. It was then that the conversation turned to Jordan.
Greg said: “Jordan’s quite tall, isn’t he? He’s quite built, isn’t he?” Jade responded: “Yeah, he’s over 6ft. He’s got a lovely physique that one, a lovely bit of kit.”
Speaking to The Guardian, Jordan said of his relationship with Jade when discussing his book, Avoidance, Drugs, Heartbreak & Dogs: “I owe a lot of my confidence to my current relationship.
“The only reason I’ve been able to write this is because I feel so secure. It’s because of her, and our relationship, that I can explore this.” Meanwhile, he said previously of Jade: “I thought now in my relationship Jade tells me she loves me all the time and I f****g love it. It’s the best comfort food but with no health risks.
“This is a lot of the reason why I speak about men and young boys because I never knew I could feel like this. I never knew that there’s a safety in somebody, she’s so willing to just express it. I’ve moved away from this idea that love needs to be something that’s short on supply like what the f**k like I want to tell Jade I love her all the time.“
After the news of Jordan and Jade’s split emerged, he took to social media to reveal that he had been on a solo holiday.
Sharing a string of snaps from his travels, he penned: “Why I’ve not been replying sorry.”
The singer escaped to the countryside, taking himself on mindful walks through mountains, taking in the scenery around him. He was flooded with support from fans praising him for how he’s navigating his newly single life.
