Former chief minister and YSRC president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Sunday accused the N. Chandrababu Naidu-led Andhra Pradesh government of pursuing “vendetta politics” by allegedly protecting ruling party workers while registering criminal cases against YSRCP leaders and victims.
In a statement posted on X, Jagan Mohan Reddy alleged that law and order had deteriorated, claiming that Opposition leaders, public representatives and even citizens questioning the government were being targeted through false cases and midnight police action.
Referring to the arrest of Alur MLA B. Virupakshi, Jagan questioned the alleged midnight police raid on the legislator’s residence and claimed that CCTV hard disks had been seized to conceal evidence. He alleged that the MLA had gone to support the family of a YSRC leader after an alleged attack by TD workers in Nemakallu village but was instead booked along with party workers.
The YSRC chief also referred to the arrests of former minister Seediri Appala Raju and former Guntur East MLA Shaik Mohammed Mustafa, alleging that the cases against them were politically motivated.
Jagan Mohan Reddy further claimed that Generation Z youth were seeking answers from the government on alleged irregularities in DSC-2025, pending Vidya Deevena and Vasathi Deevena dues, and the promised unemployment allowance.
He asserted that the YSRC would continue to oppose what he described as authoritarian governance.
