In a behind the scenes video of the Celebrity Traitors, James Blunt was seen packing some tiny swimming trunks in his suitcase as he prepared to stay in the Scottish castle
Celebrity Traitors is back, and James Blunt has shown off more than just his detective skills. In a behind the scenes video released by the BBC, the You’re Beautiful singer stripped down to tiny swim trunks while he packed for his stay in the infamous Scottish castle.
The video showed a number of this year’s celebrities as they got ready to join the show. James, 52, was spotted packing a wide array of suits, as well as a £350 Missoni dressing gown, but it was what he was wearing that was really eye-catching. The star was wearing nothing but blue swim trunks that had rubber ducks on them, and some swimming goggles.
After posing in front of the trunks, James was then seen in a tracksuit and his old British Army military uniform. The camera then cut to Julie Hesmondhalgh, who had a rather different approach to packing.

The 56-year-old Corrie star spoke to the camera, saying: “It’s about eleven hours before I get picked up to start the journey to the iconic castle. I already feel quite challenged by this packing task. There are so many different elements. The running around, exercising. The dinner parties. The funerals.”
She added that she was also making room for some items amid her clothing, including a “little paint set”, a “writing pad” and some “HRT bum patches”.
Michael Sheen was next up to pack his bags, and did so in a hoodie reminiscent of the iconic Traitors cloak. He said: “The time has come. The bags are packed. The castle calls.”
James, Julie and Michael are just three of a hugely star-studded cast taking part in the second series of the Celebrity Traitors. The 21 famous faces taking part are Amol Rajan, Bella Ramsey, James Acaster, James Blunt, Jerry Hall, Joanne McNally, Joe Lycett, Julie Hesmondhalgh, King Kenny, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Maya Jama, Michael Sheen, Miranda Hart, Myha’la, Professor Hannah Fry, Richard E. Grant, Rob Beckett, Romesh Ranganathan, Ross Kemp, Sebastian Croft and Sharon Rooney.
Prior to the show’s first episode tonight, EastEnders star Ross said he was taking part because he wanted to show people that there was more to him than playing a tough guy.
“I think if I’m able to stay or survive for a period of time, it would give people an opportunity to see that I’m not just Grant Mitchell or a man that goes around the world confronting people with guns,” he said. “I think obviously there will be people that will only know me as Grant, and then people may have seen the documentaries, which are often quite brutal. I think people probably think that I don’t have any kind of sense of humour whatsoever, which hopefully will come out.”
The show begins at 8PM on 1 October on BBC One. It will air twice a week, on Thursdays and Fridays at the same time. It comes after a hugely successful first series that saw traitor Alan Carr take the victory.
