Gabrielle and Tom Grennan are set to headline star-studded Football For Change gala hosted by Mark Wright as Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville reunite for a charitable cause.
Music stars Gabrielle and Tom Grennan are set to take centre stage alongside the football legends at this year’s Football For Change Gala, as the charity prepares for its biggest fundraising event yet.
The annual extravaganza will return to Liverpool’s M&S Bank Arena on Saturday, November 14, bringing together some of the biggest names from football, music and entertainment for a night dedicated to helping young people from some of the UK’s most disadvantaged communities.
Former England defender Carragher will be joined by his long-time friend and fellow pundit Neville for a special on-stage football Q&A, while TV and radio favourite Mark Wright has been confirmed as host for the evening.
Chart-topping singer Gabrielle and BRIT Award-nominated star Tom Grennan will provide the headline entertainment at the gala, sponsored by global transport and logistics firm DSV.
Football For Change was founded by Carragher, Conor Coady and Trent Alexander-Arnold to help tackle child poverty by creating opportunities for young people across the UK through education, sport and training.
Since launching in 2021, the initiative has raised almost £1.5million, funding grassroots charities and community projects that give young people access to life-changing opportunities in some of the country’s most deprived areas.
The gala has become one of football’s biggest charity nights, attracting a host of famous faces over the years. Previous events have featured performances from Sir Rod Stewart, Noel Gallagher, Texas, Boy George and Culture Club, and Paloma Faith, while stars including David Beckham, Wayne Rooney, Jack Grealish, Jordan Henderson, Roy Keane and Alex Greenwood have all thrown their support behind the cause.
Money raised from this year’s event will continue to help organisations working directly with young people, removing barriers to opportunity and supporting projects that make a lasting difference in communities across the UK.
Speaking ahead of the event, Football For Change co-founder Jamie Carragher said: “Football has the power to inspire and bring people together, but it also has the ability to create real change.
“Every year we’re overwhelmed by the generosity of everyone who supports Football For Change, and this year’s gala promises to be our biggest yet.
“The funds raised will help grassroots organisations continue their incredible work, giving young people opportunities they may never otherwise have had.”
