Kurnool: A Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi medical store was inaugurated at the Government Hospital in Nandyal on Wednesday.
Minister for law and minority welfare N.M.D. Farooq said the initiative aims to provide quality medicines at affordable prices to the public.
The store was set up under the aegis of the Indian Red Cross Society with support from JSW Group, Ramco Group and Rain Industries.
Dr Byreddy Shabari attended the programme as chief guest, while District Collector and Red Cross district president G. Rajakumari presided over the event.
The minister said the centre was intended to benefit poor and middle-class people and was allotted to the Red Cross following a resolution of the Hospital Development Committee as per the Collector’s directions.
