Janhvi Kapoor made an appearance on Karan Johar’s talk show, Koffee With Karan 9, along with Varun Dhawan. While Janhvi bared her heart out about a lot of things, one segment left everyone in uncomfortable silence after she gave dating advice to her future brother-in-law, and it looked like a direct dig at his ex-girlfriend, Tara Sutaria.

During a rapid-fire segment, Karan asked Janhvi to give dating advice to the following. When he named Veer Pahariya, who is Janhvi’s boyfriend and Shikhar’s brother, she quickly replied, taking a jab at his ex-girlfriend, Tara Sutaria. She said:
“Never take her to a concert.”
After this statement, there was awkward silence, and Karan, Varun, and Arjun kept looking at each other, and Janhvi gave a proud shrug of her shoulders. While Janhvi said it in a way to look cool, netizens slammed her. They pointed out that Tara was at the concert to promote her work, but people shamed her.
One user on Reddit wrote, “Janhvi is a hypocrite for wanting to take a stand in the Peddi controversy but then throws around such jokes just for the sake of ratings. Tara was heavily trolled and slut shamed for simply promoting her work. This is just icky on Janhvi’s part.”

For the unversed, Veer Pahariya and Tara Sutaria had been going strong, but they called it quits in January 2026. However, the reason behind their separation is not known, but it came right after Tara’s on-stage romance with AP Dhillon at his concert. While people were trolling her, Tara later dismissed the buzz and stated that it was purely a work thing.
Tara Sutaria faced massive backlash for hurting Veer Pahariya with her onstage presence at AP Dhillon’s concert. Later, many pointed out that Tara pushed the singer away. Many netizens even noticed Tara saying ‘no’ to him as he tried to dance with her on stage. In the clip, Tara, who was present with her beau, Veer, joined AP Dhillon on stage.
After this, Tara posted a clip on Instagram from AP Dhillon’s concert. She was seen enjoying herself on stage. Along with it, she wrote a note saying it was a proud moment for her and that they were in it together. She also directly addressed claims that she pushed AP Dhillon away or that she was involved in the kissing controversy. In the same post, Veer also shared his side of the story, adding that his reaction footage was from another song and calling those trolls ‘jokers’. He wrote:
“Not to mention, the reaction footage of me was taken during another song, not even Thodi si daru ‘, Jokers.”
