Filmmaker Jason Sanjay has revealed that his dream Hollywood project would star his father, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay, alongside action star Jason Statham.
During promotional interviews for his upcoming film Sigma, Jason was asked which Indian actor he would cast opposite Statham in a Hollywood film. Without hesitation, he named his father, Vijay.
While Sigma was initially slated for a global theatrical release on July 31, 2026, it has now been postponed to late August. The strategic delay was made to avoid a box-office clash with Vijay’s much-awaited final film, Jana Nayagan. The move has put to rest speculation about a rift between the father-son duo.
Vijay, too, has quietly supported his son’s directorial debut through a carefully planned release strategy. Although he has not participated in promotional events for Sigma, he ensured that Jana Nayagan releases well ahead of the film. The staggered release dates helped avoid a direct box-office clash, giving Jason’s debut the opportunity to find its own audience without being overshadowed by the massive buzz surrounding Vijay’s farewell film.
