On a recent episode of Talk Easy with Sam Fragoso, Jason talked about his relationship with Olivia Wilde and what he would’ve done differently. The actor highlighted that communication is the key to a successful relationship and said:
“I think it’s just flat-out communication. I could have communicated better with how I felt, how things were making me feel [and] how things make me feel. It’s unfair to expect someone to be a mind reader, whether that person is a partner, a boss, or a line producer for a television show. It’s like, ‘How do you convey those ideas quicker?'”
The actor also explained that it was ‘unfair’ to assume that a partner would understand everything without any communication. When asked whether he could understand his and Wilde’s breakup better now, after six years, the actor said, ‘It takes half as long as the process itself to get over something.’

Jason began dating the Don’t Worry Darling director in 2011 after they met at a Saturday Night Live party. After dating for two years, the couple got engaged in 2013 and welcomed a son, Otis Alexander, in 2014 and a daughter, Daisy Josephine, in 2016. The couple parted ways in 2020, and the breakup drew intense media attention.

She later filed a motion to dismiss the petition, accusing Jason of embarrassing her. Jason said he had no prior knowledge of when or where the papers would be delivered. The actor also said he never wanted Wilde to face such an inappropriate incident.
Wilde spoke about her split from Jason on Alex Cooper’s podcast, Call Her Daddy. Wilde shared that she and Jason had been having a rough time in their relationship. Detailing what went wrong in their relationship, Olivia said:
“Jason and I had been having a rough time there for a while. We had a real bumpy ride, and we were driving home from my friend’s birthday party when I said, ‘Did you give me a birthday present?’ And he said, ‘What would I get you, Olivia? I don’t know you.’ And he wasn’t wrong. We didn’t know each other anymore.”
In September 2023, Jason and Wilde settled their custody case and agreed to share joint custody of their kids. Additionally, Jason pays Wilde USD 27,500 per month in child support. After the breakup, Sudeikis was romantically linked to Keeley Hazell from 2021 to 2022. Wilde dated Harry Styles from 2021 to 2022, followed by actor and former basketball player Dane DiLiegro in 2025. She is currently dating British art dealer Caspar Jopling.
