The New York Giants watched star quarterback Jaxson Dart go down with an apparent lower-leg injury early in the team’s Monday Night Football showdown against the Los Angeles Rams at SoFi Stadium.
Dart was clobbered in the backfield and had his leg smacked around between Rams defenders.

The star signal-caller immediately crumbled to the ground in a heap of pain and was treated by trainers on the field. Dart walked off the field under his own power, but was ultimately helped to the locker room before undergoing X-rays.
While the Giants have not shared an official injury update at this time, savvy lip-readers on social media believe they may have spotted a staff member informing Giants head coach Jim Harbaugh of how long Dart will be sidelined.

Renowned sports doctor David J. Chao shared another positive update, suggesting Dart did not suffer a season-ending ACL tear. Instead, Dr. Chao believes an MCL sprain is more likely, which would fit in the four-to-six-week timeline.

We’ll have to wait for official word from the team before hitting the panic button, with Dart likely set to undergo further testing and imaging into Monday.

The concern is an MCL sprain, an injury likely measured in weeks, not months. The MRI will determine the severity. pic.twitter.com/6uS1bteswL
