Jayden Reed injury update from Packers wide receiver’s fiancée

For Aneisha Cox, fiancée of Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jayden Reed, she understands that injuries can strike at any moment on the football field.

“Unfortunately, it’s a matter of when, not if,” Cox said in a video on her TikTok this week.

And, unfortunately for Reed, it happened again.

Reed suffered a neck injury moments into the Packers’ Week 2 game against the New York Jets on Sept. 20.

And all Cox could do was look on with a helpless feeling from her home in Wisconsin as she was nearly 1,000 miles away.

“I was supposed to go to the game,” she said, before deciding on that Friday to stay home.

So after Reed went down, Cox, who was the 2025 Miss Wisconsin USA, looked for the quickest flight out of Appleton where a connecting flight via Detroit would land her in New York.

In the video three days after the injury, Cox provided an update on the Packers‘ fourth-year wide receiver.

“Jayden is doing very good,” Cox said, while adding it’s “100% a day-by-day type of recovery.”

Cox is appreciative to everyone who has reached out in support.

“We greatly appreciate all of the prayers and kind messages,” she said. “We feel it all.”

Reed sustained the injury during the Packers’ first offensive possession two plays into the game. He caught a bubble screen and then as he made his way up field he was met with a hit.

He stayed down and the Packers’ medical staff quickly tended to him. Reed was loaded onto a stretcher and eventually taken to the back on a cart.

Reed’s long-term prognosis isn’t clear.

Not long after the game ended, Reed first provided an update on his X account:

“Doing much better, appreciate all the prayers and support,” he wrote.

But Reed did not travel back with the team after the game. He stayed overnight in New York for further evaluation.

Reed is now back in Green Bay and head coach Matt LaFleur said the wide receiver is consulting with doctors for next steps.

LaFleur isn’t sure if Reed will return this season.

“It’s way too early for that right now,” LaFleur said. “He’s just got a lot. There’s a lot going on.”

Reed missed a large portion of last season with a broken collarbone, an injury that also happened in the team’s second game.
