Jennifer Lawrence’s name was once linked with Liam Hemsworth, and netizens accused her of being the ‘other woman’ when he was still married to Miley Cyrus. It happened in 2023 when Miley released her music video, Flowers. The video features Miley donning a gold dress which looked similar to Jennifer’s gown she wore for the world premiere of The Hunger Games in 2012.
Jennifer was accused of being the ‘other woman’ in Miley’s marriage with ex-husband Liam
Social media is a crazy place; people don’t stop speculating when a marriage falls apart or when a celebrity looks even slightly different. During a 2023 interview, Jennifer dismissed affair rumors with Liam when he was married to Miley. When the interviewer pointed to the speculation, she simply denied it, saying those were just rumors and had no truth to them.
Jennifer further added that she did kiss Liam, but it was only one time, and it was years after his marriage with Miley Cyrus ended. She called Miley’s video just a coincidence. She said:
“I mean, we all know that Liam and I kissed one time. But it was years after they broke up. So I just assume that was a coincidence.”
For the unversed, Jennifer and Liam worked as on-screen lovers ‘Katniss Everdeen’ and ‘Gale Hawthorne’ in the four-part movie franchise, The Hunger Games, from 2012 to 2015. Earlier, Jennifer admitted that she had an off-screen kiss with Liam. But she did not reveal when it happened. Talking about her affection for Liam, she stated that they had grown up together, and he is really hot.
Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus’ past and broken marriage
Liam and Miley were in love for many years, but their relationship had its own share of ups and downs. They were in an on-again-off-again relationship for nearly a decade and ended up getting married in 2018. The ex-couple got engaged in 2012, but they called it off in the same year. They got engaged again for the second time in 2016, and got married in December 2018.
However, by August 2019, Liam and Miley’s marriage fell apart. They shared in their statement that it was best as they could focus on themselves and their careers. Liam later filed for divorce from Miley, citing ‘irreconcilable differences’ as the reason for separation. The two settled their divorce in December 2019, and it was finalized in 2020.
In 2023, Miley released her song, Flowers, which left people wondering if it was about Liam. Another song, Muddy Feet, also left people wondering whether Miley was accusing Liam of cheating on her in the lyrics. However, Miley never confirmed any fan theories about her songs. She said:
“I never need to be a master at the craft of tricking an audience. It will set itself on fire all by itself.”
In 2025, Miley got engaged to Maxx Morando. Her fiance is the drummer for the band Liily. After that, he expanded his career into producing and songwriting and collaborated with major stars, including Miley Cyrus. Talking about his personal life, he likes to keep it away from the media. Morando is an emerging Gen Z musician. At the age of 27, he is shaping the music scene according to his unique taste.
Miley’s relationship with Maxx made headlines in 2021. They had an interesting story as they were introduced to each other on a blind date. However, the couple kept things extremely low-key and confirmed their relationship in 2022. However, their recent appearance seems like it was their way of silently confirming they were engaged. But they never really talked about it.
