Former Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love had his girlfriend by his side as the Cardinals drafted him with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft on Thursday night in Pittsburgh.

Love’s girlfriend, who goes by the Instagram username of “uniquealiece,” shared an Instagram Story photo of the pair in the green room, as well as a message before his life-changing moment.

“I’m so proud of you babe, I can’t wait to watch you absolutely dominate in the NFL,” she wrote.

She showed off her brown gown, which included a halter neckline, in another photo.

Love is the first running back to be drafted in the top five since Saquon Barkley went to the New York Giants at No. 2 in 2018.

Arizona actually had trouble reaching Love to let him know were drafting him.

The Cardinals were given the wrong number, general manager Monti Ossenfort said, per ESPN.

Arizona ultimately figured things out as the eight-minute clock winded down.

Love will join a stacked running backs room in Arizona that includes veteran James Conner, Trey Benson, Tyler Allgeier and Bam Knight.

“They got a great group of guys in there,” Love said. “I’m ready to come and compete, build a better culture, a culture of brotherhood and trust and togetherness. I’m just ready to contribute to the room, contribute to the team and just help the Cardinals be a better organization.”

Ossenfort said the running backs competition “will take care of itself,” adding, “That’ll be for [head coach] Mike [LaFleur] and his staff to sort out. But it’s a good problem to have.”

Love rushed for 2,882 yards and 36 touchdowns with the Fighting Irish from 2023-25.

He caught 63 passes for 594 yards.
