Jerry Hall will turn 70 on on July 2 – and the supermodel and actress has revealed what her birthday plans are and why she isn’t scared of getting older

Jerry Hall has revealed that these days she’s the “naughty one” almost 30 years after splitting from rock ‘n’ roll legend Mick Jagger. The supermodel and actress opened up on her ‘vices’ ahead of her milestone 70th birthday on July 2.

While she had to put up with rocker Mick, now 82, taking all manner of drugs – from LSD and cocaine to heroin – throughout their 22-year relationship, nowadays it’s Jerry that still drinks and smokes, while her ex is famously sober.

Previously known as a “goody-goody” who never touched drugs, she shared her habits haven’t changed since the seventies and she still likes a glass of wine and a cigarette. A few in fact.

In a new interview, she confessed: “I like to drink wine at lunch and wine at dinner – if I have company I’ll always have wine.”

She told Vogue Magazine of indulgences and how she still smokes 10 of her favourite American Spirit cigarettes a day: “I think I’m quite moderate. I used to be considered the goody-goody when I drank and smoked only – now I’m the naughty one and I’m doing the exact same thing.”

Though you wouldn’t think it to look at her, Jerry is about to enter her septuagenarian era. She is set to mark the milestone birthday with a party, where there will be “a marquee in the garden and lunch and dancing” – along with an Elvis impersonator.

All her family – model daughters Elizabeth, 42, and Georgia May, 34, along with sons James, 40, and 28-year-old Gabriel, plus her three grandchildren – will be there. And around 200 pals, including famous friends such as makeup extraordinaire Charlotte Tilbury and artist Tracey Emin, are also thought to be on the invite list.

Speaking about how she feels about turning 70, Jerry – who has never succumbed to plastic surgery or treatments like Botox and filler – told the fashion magazine: “My grandmother, when she was in her 70s, she had grey hair, she was a bit fat, a lovely old granny .I love being a granny. I’m always babysitting, but I don’t really feel 70.”

Asked about her secrets to ageing old gracefully, she confessed that she doesn’t go to the gym – and rarely uses sunscreen. Instead, she gets lots of sleep, drinks plenty of water and skips dessert.

Jerry added: “I think we should be allowed to look 70… I mean, you want to look a good 70. What’s wrong with wrinkles? I have loads of wrinkles, but I don’t mind. I’m 70, I should have wrinkles. I don’t want to look weird, I don’t want to scare my grandchildren.”

Conceding that some celebrities may go under the knife for their careers, Jerry claimed she would “rather retire” instead.

There is no sign of that happening as she was recently announced as part of the star-studded line-up for this year’s Celebrity Traitors UK.
