YouTube content creator Jesse Ridgway (better known as McJuggerNuggets) and his wife, Ashley Ridgway, were among the most loved couples on the internet. Their audience considered them a happy family of two humans and two pups. Now the beloved duo have fallen in their fans’ eyes due to their choice of publicising too much of their lives. Jesse and Ashley are facing severe online backlash and even death threats after publicly announcing their decision to terminate her pregnancy following a fetal Down syndrome diagnosis. Recently, they hit back at the criticism, explaining the thought behind their actions.

Jesse Ridgway and Ashley Ridgway got married in late 2025 and were set to welcome their first child in 2026. Posting photos of ultrasound, the couple shared that they were overjoyed and looking forward to embracing parenthood for the first time. However, after finding out that their child would be born with a rare ailment that is found in 1 out of 1000 babies, they decided to get an abortion. Now, after receiving immense hate for their actions, Ashley shared during a TMZ Live that she doesn’t regret being candid about her decision to terminate the pregnancy. She stated:
“I feel like sharing what we have…is somthing I will never regret. I don’t regret you know sharing oue truth and our journey to starting a family.”

According to Jesse’s wife, the fans who followed their journey from the beginning deserved to know about the latest updates in their lives. Ashley further hit back at the criticism, saying that she and her husband reacted the same way towards the Down syndrome diagnosis as anybody else would have reacted in a similar situation. As per her, the only difference she and Jesse had with those people was that they wouldn’t share that part of their lives on social media. Thus, she felt that the hate towards them was absolutely unnecessary. She stated:
“This is such a common thing that happened and I feel like if you were a fly on the wall with anybody receiving any type of news like this [you would see] that we recated the same as everyone else, we just decided to share it.”
Jesse added that they will keep being “transparent with our audience” even after witnessing the worst of humanity after announcing their preganancy termination. He thought providing an update about their pregnancy “would be good”, but he was proved wrong and realised that nobody would ever publicise things like that because “it’s just so hard” to “open yourself up” to the world. Jesse shared that the online reaction was “shocking” and even their close people turned their backs on them.
