The Jets could be getting back two key offensive pieces this week.
Starting receiver Adonai Mitchell and top offensive guard Dylan Parham returned to the practice field Wednesday on a limited basis. The team’s top vertical threat, Mitchell has missed the last four games after injuring his finger in practice.
The initial hope was he would be able to play through the injury, but that was not the case. He caught nine passes for 123 yards the first two weeks of the season before sustaining the injury. Mitchell had a minor procedure on the finger.
If Mitchell is able to play against the Dolphins, it would give the Jets their full complement of pass catchers for the first time this season.
“We know how important AD is to this offense. He’s a big key to our offense,” Geno Smith said. “With all the playmakers that we have, when you have a guy like AD out there, he can stretch the field, he can be a possession guy.”
Parham has missed the last three games with a knee injury. Jordan Meredith has started in his place. In terms of both Mitchell and Parham, Aaron Glenn said “they’re starting to work themselves back in.”

Glenn and Dolphins coach Jeff Hafley have a relationship that dates back more than a decade, when Hafley was the Browns’ defensive backs coach and Glenn was hired to assist him.
“I learned quite a bit on how he operates when it comes to running a meeting, how he operates when it comes to installing, so learned a lot when it comes to that, and we stayed close throughout these years in this coaching profession, and he’s going to do a good job with those guys,” Glenn said. “Obviously, when they play us, I don’t want him to do a good job, but I know how he’s built, I know he’s going to get those guys [going]. You can see it on tape — they play tough, they play hard, they play physical.”
No. 1 running back Breece Hall (quad) didn’t practice Wednesday, but Glenn left open the possibility of him practicing later in the week. Running back/kick returner Kene Nwangwu (knee) also didn’t practice. Linebacker Kiko Mauigoa (quad) and edge Joseph Ossai (ankle) are week to week. … Edge Will McDonald IV (toe) and defensive tackle T’Vondre Sweat (elbow) were limited, but Glenn expects them to play Sunday.
