Jim Mora thinks it will be “touch and go” this week to see if Colorado State quarterback Hauss Hejny is available to play against UTSA.
Hejny left the Week 3 loss against BYU with a hamstring injury. Hejny had a third-down incompletion with about 7 minutes left in the first quarter and limped off the field after the play.

He went to the medical tent on CSU’s sideline during the ensuing commercial break. Hejny returned for CSU’s next series, which resulted in a three-and-out.
“He couldn’t move, he couldn’t plant, he couldn’t throw,” Mora said in his Sept. 21 press conference to begin Week 4. “I said, ‘You OK?’ He said, ‘It’s pretty spicy.'”
Backup K’saan Farrar replaced Hejny until early in the fourth quarter when he was poked in the eye. Darius Curry replaced him and led two scoring drives.
Mora said Hejny is working to attempt to return when the Rams play at UTSA on Sept. 26.

“Typical Hauss fashion, he’s attacking it with everything he’s got. He was in treatment after the game. He was in treatment most the day (Sunday). He’s going to do everything he can to be ready to play. Our hope is that he can play,” Mora said.
“If he can’t play, then K’saan and Darius will be ready to go. I think it will be touch and go. Certainly, the most important thing is if (Hejny) does play, he is able to protect himself and do the things that make him special as a quarterback. Otherwise, it doesn’t make sense to play him. Knowing Hauss and his toughness and his mindset and the way he attacks all this, I’m not going to put it past him that he’s ready to go.”
Mora said it could come down to a game-day decision on if Hejny is able to play.
Farrar was cleared to return to action after the eye poke, but Mora said he is still dealing with the effects from it.

“K’saan took the shot to the eye. So, first thing we have to make sure that’s completely cleared up. He’s functional, but being functional isn’t the same as being 100%. Especially at that position. He can’t go into a game and not have complete, clear vision,” Mora said.
