Joe Flacco learned the hard way that being family will only carry you so far when it comes to fantasy football.
During his 2025 Week 2 game against the Ravens, Flacco’s family was shown talking about the then-Browns QB and whether they had started him on their fantasy teams during a now-viral clip from the third season of the Netflix docuseries “Quarterback.”
“If dad goes off, I’m gonna crash out,” Frank Flacco, Joe’s son, said from the stands at M&T Bank Stadium in the clip.

Joe’s wife, Dana Flacco, then asked why. Frank replied, “I benched him,” referring to his fantasy football lineup.
“I hope he goes off,” Dana Flacco responded.
Dana wasn’t in the clear, though, as she explained in the show that she also had her husband on the bench on her fantasy team.
In the end, the family made the right decision, as the signal-caller did not go off.
He threw for 199 yards, one touchdown, and one interception on 25-for-45 passing in a 41-17 loss to Baltimore. He also lost a fumble.
In other words, Joe Flacco, now with the Bengals, would have produced just 7.96 points in a standard fantasy league.
The Flacco family has gained some new fans since “Quarterback” dropped all eight of its third season episodes on Tuesday.

Joe Flacco’s humor was on full display when talking about visors with his former teammates and Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders.
“Yeah, but if you wear a visor, it’s for looks,” Joe Flacco said in a clip during a Cleveland practice last season. “You think you look sweet. It’s that era. I don’t want my kids to wear visors either. They all want visors. I’m like, ‘Guys, they’re just annoying. They’re gonna fog up.’
“They f–king suck, dude. It’s all about looks. When I was a kid, I wanted a visor too, and then I’m like, ‘The visors suck. They don’t make sense.’”
Joe Flacco continued saying quarterbacks don’t wear visors, and it’s obvious to tell when a quarterback is trying to dress for looks.
He ended the conversation saying he’d wear a visor in a game if the Browns “get a win.”
After getting traded to the Bengals last year, Flacco will play for them again this year after signing a one-year, $6-million contract. It can reach up to $9 million with incentives.
